It’s been a
hot and humid July with promises of more for August, but the artists have been
busy creating new works for all to see.
We have a
special artist showing this month at the Griffin Gallery, Larry Southworth from
Fredericksburg, who will have more than 20 oil paintings on display,
most of
which have been inspired by the water views around the Colonial Beach area.
Mr.
Southworth will also be exhibiting the painting that has recently been used as
a CD cover
for the Fredericksburg
Grammy Award Winner, John Starling.
We also have
another visiting artist Ms. Patricia Spitaleri from the Eastern Shore.
As a former
gallery owner herself, she will be exhibiting Maryland and Florida landscapes
and abstracts at the Jarrett Thor Gallery.
Plus there
will be two exciting artists exhibit at Tides Inn, Mr. Gary Duquette and
Deborah Booth featuring art of
Japanese
fish print making Gyotaku along with their botanicals. Well worth seeing how
two artists
merging together can really complement each
other. We also have a new business member this month,
The Happy Clam on Monroe Bay, who will be
featuring Cheryl Crane who does some fantastic driftwood sculptures,
photography
and acrylic paintings. This month promises to be an unusual and interesting Art
Walk,
so be sure
to stop by and see all the new and different things we have come up with.
There will be maps and brochures available so
you will not get lost and of course admission is free and refreshments are
often served.
Come and
meet our artists. See attached map for artist’s locations.
